MELBOURNE SHUFFLE FREESTYLE

This Level 2 course requires a basic foundation in shuffle, specifically the T-Step and Running Man. These foundations may have been acquired through our Introduction to Shuffle course or elsewhere.

This course is offered in collaboration between MTL Shuffle and Black Fire Crew and is open to adults and teenagers ages 13 and up. Classes may be taught in either French or English depending on the instructor, and all instructors are able to answer questions in both languages.

The main objective of this course is to develop and strengthen your ability to freestyle using the foundations of Melbourne Shuffle.

Throughout the six-week session, you’ll refine your technique and build on your existing foundations through targeted drills and exercises. You’ll learn new moves, explore variations, work on different ways to connect movements, and develop greater fluidity, control, and versatility in your freestyle.

Toward the end of the session, you’ll also learn a short complementary choreography as a fun way to put some of the movements and concepts explored throughout the course into practice.

INTRODUCTION COURSE

An Introduction to Shuffle and Cutting Shapes

For adults, teenagers and children aged 8 and up*. Some classes are taught in French and others in English, but all instructors can answer questions in both languages.

In this beginner group course, you will learn the foundations of the two most popular shuffle styles: Australian shuffle and UK shuffle, also known as cutting shapes.

The main objective is to introduce you to the basic steps and give you the tools you need to start freestyling in shuffle. The course consists of 6 lessons taught by different instructors.
